Queen of Swords
the passionless but fertilized mind“

archetypes: Hera, Ereshkigal, Hekathe
element: air
The Queen of Swords sits mighty on her throne in the clouds.
Her cutting glance invokes both, respect and fear. Her hear expands above her head and connects her to a divine feminine principle, we would rather look away from. Being independent and a proud ruler, she is highly intelligent, cunning and manipulates others easily. It’s not even a challenge to her, to be far more capable than others in her area of work – she’s an expert in her doings. This Queen may be regarded as the counterpart to the major Arcana card of IV – The Emperor.
Her upper chakras are glowing and show to us, that, besides her intellect, her ability to communicate and her appearance are equally impressive.
Down from her waist, her body is veiled in bandages like a mummy, which gives us the idea, that her lower chakras are indiscriminated. She does not regard her emotions, or properties like compassion and kindness as necessary attributes. Also, she is not connected to her natural sexuality and may even be offended, if fellow women around her, are.
Below her feet crawl serpents, which try to get away from her. She stomps on them and controls their movement and often their daily lives. Those serpents can be victims, like her children, colleagues or subordinates. In any case, they suffer from her behavior.
In her left hand, she has a tight grip on an obelisk, which has been rotted out roughly. She is able to emasculate or debase others easily. We must beware to not become a victim of these actions taken by her, when she is vengeful or angry.
Rarely, she can transcend all these issues, because she holds such a position of power, which is regarded to be deserved by her, and often others as well. Power is given, and we would all give it gladly to such a capable person. The challenge of this card is to be careful though.
If we regard ourselves to be like this archetype, we are likely to wrinkle our noses when reading this text. Although, our intellect feels to be unprecedented, we are trapped in our own illusion of greatness. We must remember, we are, what we are perceived to be, and not, what we think about ourselves. We must take a step back. Even if we are not able to inspire others or feel sympathy for them, it may help, to just let them act more freely to improve all of our lives. If we meet such an impressive person, we should be careful, to not get trapped in her aura. We may stay under her radar, and not challenge her in a way, which could get back at us.
